Casual Use Terms & Conditions
Free Trial Day, Casual Day Pass, 1 Week Pass & Meeting Room hire.
Last updated: 8 July 2026
These terms apply when you use Lyall Bay WorkHub (66B Kingsford Smith Street, Rongotai, Wellington 6022, operated by John Hussey t/a Lyall Bay WorkHub — "we", "us") on a casual basis: a Free Trial Day, Casual Day Pass, 1 Week Pass, or non-member Meeting Room hire. By booking or using any of these, you accept these terms. Monthly memberships and address services are covered by our Membership Licence Agreement instead.
1. Bookings and access
- All casual use is subject to availability and must be booked in advance (same-day bookings welcome where space allows).
- Casual access is during business hours only, on the day(s) booked. There is no 24/7 access, and no keys or access codes are provided.
- A day means one calendar day; a week pass means five consecutive business days from your start date. Unused days do not carry over.
- You may use any available shared desk and the shared facilities (kitchen, coffee, phone booths, printer, bathroom and shower). Desks must be cleared completely at the end of each day — nothing may be left overnight.
2. Payment and refunds
- Fees are payable in advance at the published rate (all prices + GST): Casual Day Pass $49/day, 1 Week Pass $150/week, Meeting Room $149/day for non-members.
- All casual fees are non-refundable. If you can't make it, contact us before your booked day and we may, at our discretion, move your booking to another date — but we are not obliged to.
- The Free Trial Day is free of charge, limited to one per person, and is for people genuinely considering a membership. We may decline or end a trial at our discretion.
3. Meeting room hire (non-members)
- Hire is by the day, subject to availability. Member bookings take priority.
- The room seats up to four people. The named hirer is responsible for their guests and for leaving the room clean, tidy and as found.
- Video conferencing screen, whiteboard and Wi-Fi are provided as-is; test anything critical before your meeting. We are not liable for equipment or connectivity issues beyond our control.
4. Your responsibilities
- Follow our house rules and any reasonable directions we give, including for health, safety and security.
- Use the space lawfully and considerately. Keep noise reasonable, take calls in the phone booths, and respect members and other users.
- You are responsible for any damage to the premises, furniture or equipment caused by you or your guests, and you'll cover the full cost of repair or replacement.
- Don't move, alter or interfere with our furniture, equipment, IT, network or security systems.
- Printing is available for reasonable day-to-day use during your visit — bulk printing is by arrangement and may be charged at cost.
- Casual use does not include mail handling, and our address may not be used as your business, postal or registered address.
5. Your property and our liability
- Your property is your responsibility — insure it and don't leave it unattended or overnight. We are not liable for loss of or damage to your property except to the extent caused by our negligence.
- To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for casual use is limited to the fees you paid us for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where it applies.
6. Security, privacy and dogs
- CCTV operates in the shared areas 24/7 for security. By entering the premises you consent to being recorded.
- We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.
- The space is dog-friendly for members; please ask us before bringing a dog on a casual visit.
7. General
- We may refuse entry or end a casual booking without refund if these terms are breached or behaviour is unsafe, unlawful or disruptive.
- These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
